Cookie Policy

Blue Moon OS LLC · Effective October 16, 2026 · Version 1

This policy lists the cookies, local storage entries and similar technologies Kayson OS actually uses, what each one does, and the choices you have. It is the technical companion to our Privacy Policy, and it describes what the software really does rather than what a template assumes it does.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to store. Browser local storage and session storage do a similar job with a different mechanism. We use the term "technologies" below to cover all of them, because the legal treatment is the same and the practical effect on you is the same.

Some technologies are essential — without them the Service simply cannot work. Others are preferences, which make the app behave the way you left it. Neither category tracks you across other websites.

2. Essential technologies

These are required for the Service to function. They cannot be switched off through us, because switching them off would mean you could not sign in or use the app at all.

  • Sign-in session — keeps you authenticated as you move between pages. Set when you sign in, held in your browser, and cleared when you sign out or the session expires. Without it, every page would ask you to sign in again.
  • Security and abuse prevention — used to detect fraudulent sign-ins, rate-limit automated requests and protect accounts from takeover attempts.
  • Workspace and role state — remembers which company and which role your session is acting under, so you see the right projects and the right permissions.

3. Preference technologies

These remember choices you have made so the app looks and behaves the way you left it. They stay in your browser. None of them identifies you to a third party, and none of them leaves our app.

  • Sidebar state — a cookie that remembers whether the navigation sidebar is expanded or collapsed. Lasts about a week.
  • Theme — whether you chose light or dark mode.
  • List and view preferences — the view you last used on screens that offer more than one, such as tasks or reports.
  • Last opened drawing sheet — so a plan set reopens where you left it.
  • Scroll position — so returning to a page puts you back where you were.
  • Message pins and visit counts — small per-user counters that drive unread and pinned state in messaging.

Clearing these does not break anything. It resets your settings to their defaults.

4. What we do not use

This part matters as much as the list above, because it is the part a template usually gets wrong. As of the date at the top of this page, we do not use any of the following:

  • Advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • Cross-site tracking pixels or tags — including Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok, LinkedIn or similar.
  • Third-party product-analytics SDKs that build a profile of you across other websites.
  • Session-replay or heat-mapping tools that record your screen while you work.
  • Data brokers, audience segmentation or list rental.
  • Cookies set by social media embeds, because we do not embed social widgets.

If this ever changes, it will change here first. This policy is updated before a new technology goes live, not after.

5. Your choices

You can clear or block cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this per-site.

  • Blocking the sign-in session will prevent you from signing in. This is a limitation of how authentication works, not a choice we are imposing.
  • Blocking preference storage only resets your settings; the app keeps working.
  • Clearing storage signs you out and returns every setting to its default.
  • Using a private or incognito window starts you with no stored technologies at all.

You do not need to accept anything to use Kayson OS. There is nothing optional running today, so there is nothing to consent to — which is why you will not find a preference panel here. A button that appears to control something but controls nothing is worse than no button.

7. Global Privacy Control and opt-out signals

We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals and any comparable browser or extension opt-out signal. We do not attempt to detect, fingerprint or work around them.

Because we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, there is currently nothing for such a signal to switch off. We still treat the signal as binding, and we will continue to do so if our practices change.

California residents have the rights described in section 14 of our Privacy Policy, including the rights to know, access, correct, delete and opt out.

8. Public document pages

Our customers send quotes, invoices, change orders and portfolio links to their own clients through Kayson OS. If you open one of those links you do not need an account, and no advertising or tracking technology is loaded on that page.

We do record that the document was opened, and by what kind of device, so the contractor who sent it can confirm it was received. If you sign one, we record the name you typed and the time, so there is a record of the acceptance. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

9. Changes to this policy

We review this page whenever the app changes in a way that touches browser storage. The effective date at the top always reflects the last real review.

If a change affects what we collect or who receives it, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and where the law requires it we will ask for your agreement first.
